uber invitations
Wedding invitations to be mailed
Wouldn’t it be nice to have Uber for invitations? They have list of options to choose from like a menu, you call in to order, and it will delivered right away. Actually there is. Lol. There are so many places to get your wedding invitations done. They maybe pricey, but they do a really amazing job at creating those intricate details and layers within the invitation. If you have the budget, go for it, it’s one less stress from all the wedding planning. If you don’t have the budget, make your own.
There are 2 ways to make your own invitation:
Start from scratch - you buy all the cardstock you need, design your own format, print everything, make your envelopes and inserts. There are so many available free wedding invitation templates online. Card and Pockets is a really good one that’s been used by some people I know. But if you do some research you’ll find more out there that give free wedding invitation templates. For really good ones, you have to pay a little extra, but it’s so worth it.
Buy some of the items premade - this is the one I did when I made my wedding invitations. I got a template to follow, (I forgot the website I used). I bought all the cardstock I needed, glue, and other materials. BUT, I bought premade envelopes and inserts. I printed off everything I needed into a cardstock, cut them to the size of the insert, and I was done. It wasn’t easy to be honest, I didn’t have a paper cutter, but I was working part time in an office which had one, so on my break time, I would cut all the cardstock I need to their sizes. It didn’t have all the beautiful cuts or embedded writing on it, like what professionally made invitations have, but I think it turned out great.
No matter how you make your wedding invitation, I think the important thing is you’ll be able to save a little of money from your budget that you can maybe use for something else.
Go one step further and make your own wax seal stamp. Buy a stamp with the initials of your last name, (if you’re lucky enough you might find something like that in a dollar store, otherwise, they do have it in at wedding stores for cheap). Get a discarded crayon, same color as your motif, melt it, and use that as your seal wax.
